Migration Update: The move to Juno

It’s been a week since builders and many others on Terra faced a terrible crisis. While billions of dollars in investments liquidated (ourselves included), we faced a much larger issue as the markets continued to crash.

As a platform, we shared the same philosophies and goals, and was the main reason behind choosing a De-Fi platform. Like us, many projects had to deal with personal losses as well as deal with one of the most chaotic scenarios in the history of crypto. The worst nightmare for any budding project was now a reality.

While prominent developers and platforms are now rebuilding or trying to salvage whatever is left in the aftermath of the UST de-pegging, for Fanfury, this has been a whirlwind of emotions and probably the fastest we have had to move through all 7 stages of grief. But we have made headway, because of our amazing team and community whose resilience, understanding and support, have pushed us through this time.

To a new dawn

While change is inevitable, survival and adaptation are what keep us alive. While these events will stay imprinted in our memory as long as we live, only those that adapt in time, survive.

Fanfury’s team had a series of late-night calls, meetings, brainstorming sessions, and expert opinions on the best next move for the Fanfury platform.

After careful consideration, we have chosen to migrate our platform to the Juno Network!

Some of you may be familiar with the platform, while some of you aren’t. However, everyone is probably wondering the same thing — why Juno?

That’s what we are here to discuss!

About Juno

Juno is a prominent De-Fi token with substantial utility. The fact that it has been created by some of the best devs from across Cosmos to aid smart contracts gave it an edge over its competitors. It’s often referred to as the “bank” of Cosmos since devs still consider it a sister token to $ATOM ( yes, that’s how important it is).

Why Juno?

Juno as a platform is already tested and is architecturally similar to Terra. Built on Cosmos SDK, it means Fanfury’s smart contracts, written in Rust by using CosmWasm and Tendermint can be easily migrated. With a migration to Juno it ensures that our smart contracts can adapt because of its compatibility with the Juno Network.

Migrating $FURY tokens to Juno

Moving assets is a crucial part of the migration process. By moving to Juno, we’ve had to make difficult decisions and the community will be a big part of the migration process.

The team has chosen to re-mint $Fury tokens on Juno Network:

  • $FURY tokens will be re-minted on Juno;
  • Distribution will happen based on a snapshot at a certain block height which will be confirmed with the community;
  • $FURY tokens on Terra are now deprecated and trading with them is NOT RECOMMENDED

Fanfury & Keplr

Fanfury will be using Kepler wallets in order to interact with the platform.

Holders of the $FURY token will need to go through the process of Terra address verification, confirming both Terra and Juno addresses.

Fanfury is asking users to verify their Terra Addresses, in order to prevent malicious behaviour, through fake and false claims.

Users will need to follow the steps listed below, in order to complete the verification procedure

Verification Prodedure
In order to verify your Terra Wallet address and subsequently link it to a Juno Address, users will need to interact with both the Keplr Wallet and Terra Station:

Keplr Wallet:

  • Download the Keplr Wallet from the iOS App Store or the Google Play Store;
  • Use one of many ways to register on the Keplr Wallet;
  • Find your Juno wallet address by selecting Juno from the side menu;

Terra Station:

  • Sign in to your Terra Wallet;
  • Choose the V2 Mainnet
  • Send a small amount of (only 0.1) LUNA token to this Terra Address:
    terra1ruynn2n55sssh0szsw9qm6dgh92y2hku9w9kt9;
  • Make sure to enter your Juno wallet address into the MEMO field;
  • Send and sign the transaction;
  • * Note that Fanfury halted operations at a block height of 7603700.

Fanfury & Atlo

Fanfury will be taking over the vesting of all tokens meant to be distributed through Atlo, and the same vesting schedules will be followed;

Atlo users will also need to have Kepler wallets in order to validate and verify their Terra Addresses.

Wrapping up

Team Fanfury thanks every one of you who has been a constant source of support. The team is grateful for the support from its community and that is what has made it possible for us to look ahead and keep striving to achieve the vision we share with all of you.

Whatever changes come our way, our goal and vision remain the same. Working together on a Platform like Juno was the closest thing to ensuring our vision stays intact and we hope in the coming months you will be able to see that too.
